My Boss is Fucked Up!

It was rather a struggling day for me at work because I was suffering from this "mysterious" cough that won't go away even after I tried so many different medicines to put an end to it. I received an Acer Notebook from my senior technician in the order to fix it correctly. I checked the notebook that was received from my senior technician and found out that the charger was missing. So, I borrowed a charger from my colleague out from a brand new laptop from the stock room. I did my best to fix the computer up; unfortunately, I couldn't move the data back to the laptop before I get off from work. I left the notebook and the brand new notebook that I borrowed from my colleague on the table.
The cough got the best out of me that I wasn't fit for work at all. I called in sick and visited a doctor for cures. Naturally, I was absence at work while the laptop that I was working on yesterday still sitting on the table.
Later, I received a call from my colleague who questioned me about the new laptop. Apparently, the charger for the new laptop was gone. I told him that I left it on the table and that the last person who was working on it was colleague A and my senior technician. Both of them denied the fact that they have seen nor packed the new laptop's charger with the laptop that was sent in for servicing. However, the senior technician did call up the customer to ensure that she didn't have two charger at home. The call resulted in vain and we still don't know where the heck was the charger at. The case rested without further investigation, not even an effort to locate the charger.
Today, my boss called me up and accused me of stealing the charger while I was having dinner with my friends. He didn't give me the chance to explain the situation and just hang up on me. I was so irritated by his childish and ungrateful behaviour. He didn't even bother to know what's actually went down the pipe to have cause the charger gone missing.
I'm prepared to pay for the missing charger and give up my resignation letter if my boss wrongfully accuse me as a thief.
